Woman Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit Against Friend of Late Husband
A woman filed a wrongful death lawsuit against a family friend for the death of her husband.
William Decero, 49, lost control of the vehicle he was driving that belonged to Thomas Fitzsimmons, 48, who was sitting as a passenger. The vehicle swerved off a road in Oak Brook, Illinois, and crashed into the woods.
Fitzsimmons was dead by the time police arrived on the scene.
Decero was charged with aggravated DUI involving death with a pending court case.
According to the lawsuit filed by Fizsimmon’s wife, Maureen Fitzsimmons, Decero was speeding when he drove off the road.
Decero potentially faces up to 14 years in prison if he is convicted.
