Toyota Faced with Wrongful Death Lawsuit

A wrongful death and product liability lawsuit was filed against Toyota on behalf of a woman who died in a traffic accident.

According to the lawsuit, it was a defect in the design of the Toyota Highlander that Linda Wall was driving that caused her seat to break backward when she was rear-ended by a Jeep Wrangler.

Wall died seven hours later at a Santa Barbara hospital, having suffered cervical vertebral fractures in the collision.

The lawsuit also names the driver of the Wrangler, Rebecca Sandoval. Sandoval’s car was found to contain used and unopened nitrous oxide containers. It states that she rear-ended Wall while under the influence of the drugs.

Sandoval is charged with murder, felony, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence, causing injury and a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence.
