Injured Teen Gymnast Prompts Lawsuit against Washington School
A school in Vancouver, Washington, is being sued for the injury of a 15-year-old girl who fell during a gymnastics practice.
According to the lawsuit, the school district failed to train employees on how to properly supervise gymnastics and respond to an accident.
The high school freshman fell and landed on her head as she was practicing on gymnastics bars, later experiencing a sore neck and tingling in her forehead and chin.
Grant Gehrmann, her lawyer, claimed that the school district did not ensure an adult was providing proper guidance and instruction during the routine.
Gehrmann wrote in the complaint that the girl is at an “increased risk of additional severe injuries, including paralysis and neurologic injury.”
