Nursing Home Resident, 81, Bludgeons Roommate, 94
An 81-year-old California nursing home resident bludgeoned his 94-year-old roommate to death with a clothes rod from his closet, police said.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department arrested William McDougall, who may be facing a murder charge.
The assault occurred at around 11:20 p.m. Friday night, when McDougall beat his roommate, 94-year-old Manh Ban Nguyen, to death. The two shared a room at the Palm Terrace Healthcare Center in Laguna Hills.
Nguyen died from head injuries.
Police are investigating the incident in an attempt to find a motive for the crime.
