Weed Killer Sprayed at Ohio Middle School Sickens 47
Forty seven students became ill and six were hospitalized after a weed killer was sprayed on an athletic field at a Ohio middle school on Tuesday.
Emergency personnel evacuated Edgewood Middle School in Trenton after many students began to suffer from respiratory problems and headaches.
A hazardous materials team determined that the weed killer Momentum had been used on a high school athletic field adjacent to the middle school’s campus.
The product’s label warns that Momentum is slightly toxic and may cause eye and skin irritation.
The hospitalized students were treated and released. The school reopened on Wednesday.
